WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team remained undefeated on the season with a 12-9 victory over visiting Hobart on Saturday afternoon at Cooper Field. The Hoyas improve to 6-0 on the season and continue their best start since the 2003 campaign.

Daniel Bucaro (East Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) led the Blue & Gray with five goals and a pair of assists for seven points while Jake Carraway (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary's) was hot on his trail with three goals and three assists for six points. Lucas Wittenberg (Kennesaw, Ga./Harrison/Mercer) and Austin McDonald (Olney, Md./Georgetown Prep) both added a pair of goals while Greg Galligan (Oyster Bay Cove, N.Y./St. Anthony's) chipped in an assist.

With his five-goal performance, Bucaro moved into the top-10 in program history with 79 career goals. He also moved up to a tie for 17th all-time in career scoring on the Hilltop.

Defensively, Nick Marrocco (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) posted another double-digit save performance with 12 and allowed just nine goals for his sixth win of the year. Galligan led all players with three caused turnovers, while Marrocco, Connor Moran (Monkton, Md./Loyola Blakefield), and Alex Robinson (Silver Spring, Md./Bullis) all added a pair.

Peter Tagliaferri (Danville, Calif./San Ramon Valley) paced the way with six ground balls and Craig Berge (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) collected four.

Hobart (2-4) jumped on the board first, scoring just over three minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead. Georgetown responded with three-straight goals, but the Statesmen answered back with two goals in the final minute, including one as the horn sounded, to salvage a 3-3 tie after the first quarter.

In the second, GU and Hobart matched early goals before the Blue & Gray posted two unanswered goals to close out the half and take a 6-4 lead into the break.

Coming out strong in the third, Georgetown outscored Hobart 4-2 in the frame to take its largest lead of the day at 10-5 before closing out the stanza with a four-goal advantage, up 10-6. The Statesmen outscored the Hoyas in the fourth, 3-2, but it wasn't enough as the Blue & Gray closed out the victory to remain undefeated on the season.

Chris Aslanian led Hobart with two goals and three assists. Sam Lucchessi collected nine saves in goal for the Statesmen.

The Hoyas return to action as they travel to Philadelphia to face Drexel on Saturday, March 17 at 1 p.m.
