Hoyas Slip to Barry

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis squad dropped a 5-0 decision to Barry University on Thursday afternoon at the Buccaneer Tennis Center in Miami Shores, Florida. With the loss against the undefeated Buccaneers (12-0), a D-II program, the Hoyas slip to 1-7 this season.

Barry won all three doubles matches against the Hoyas.

In singles, junior Sydney Goodson (Great Falls, Va./Langley High School) lost at No. 2 singles to No. 1 ranked Sonja Larsen, 6-0, 6-1. Sophomore Anna Short (Birmingham, Mich./Cranbrook Kingswood) fell at No. 5 singles to Julie Razafindranaly, 6-3, 6-0. After the two singles points were won, making the score 5-0, the other four matches went unfinished.

The Blue & Gray return to action next Friday, March 16, to meet Old Dominion in Norfolk, Va. The match is set for 1 p.m.
