WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University track & field teams are set to resume their 2018-19 indoor campaign as they travel to University Park, Pennsylvania on Saturday to compete in the Penn State Nittany Lion Challenge hosted by Penn State University. Georgetown will face off against teams from Virginia, Penn State, Maryland, Army and Pittsburgh, among others. The action will begin for the Hoyas at 11 a.m. with the men's and women's long jump. The meet will be held at the Multi-Sport Facility & Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.
Men's Preview
The men's squad featured a number of first-place finishes in the Navy Invitational held in Annapolis, Maryland back in December. All-American
Joe White (Clifton, N.J. / DePaul Catholic) had one of the best performances of the day as he was able to record an indoor personal-best time of 47.94 in the 400-meter run. White, as well as five other Hoyas, will compete in the Men's 1,000-meter race on Saturday. Other standouts
Ruach Padhal (London, Ontario / John Paul II Catholic),
Lawrence Leake (Huntington, N.Y. / Huntington) and
Ian Delgado (Cary, N.C. / Green Hope), who all finished first in their respective races at Navy, will battle head-to-head in the 600-meter run.
Josiah Laney (Sylmar, Calif. / Granada Hills) will be the lone field event participant on the men's side as he takes part in the long jump category.
All-Americans
Spencer Brown (Wilton, Conn. / Wilton),
