WASHINGTON – Georgetown University cross country freshmen
Katie Dammer (Clarks Summit, Pa. / Abington Heights) and
Sami Corman (Bellevue, Wash. / Issaquah) will head to Tallahassee, Florida to compete in the USATF Cross Country Championships on Saturday. The duo will compete in the Junior Women 6-kilometer race at the Apalachee Regional Park course at 11 a.m. The top six finishers will have the opportunity to compete in both the North American, Central American and Caribbean Championships (NACAC) in two weeks, which is held in Trinidad and Tobago, and the World Cross Country Championships in Denmark in March.
Dammer competed in all five cross country meets for the Blue & Gray this season and was a valuable point scorer in each of those races. Her most notable performance came in the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships in Carmel, Indiana where she finished in the top 30 notching a time of 21:51.7.
Corman made her season debut at the BIG EAST Championships posting a time of 21:48.5, scoring in the top 25 to help the Hoyas to a second-place finish. She also competed in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals at Penn State back in November and was able to crack the top 50 with a time of 22:19.
