WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's
Daniel Bucaro (East Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) was selected as one of 50 men's players to the 2019 Tewaaraton Award Watch List, as announced by The Tewaaraton Foundation. The Tewaaraton Award is recognized as the pre-eminent lacrosse award, annually honoring the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States.
Fifty men's and 50 women's players highlight the watch list, which will be trimmed to 25 nominees later in the season and again to five finalists.
Bucaro leads the Hoyas (3-1) with 20 points (13G, 7A) on the season in four games for the Hoyas and has tallied all three game-winning goals for the Blue & Gray. For his career, he has scored 105 goals to go with 54 assists for 159 points, seventh most in Georgetown history.
A three-time All-BIG EAST selection, Bucaro was named All-BIG EAST First Team in 2018 and 2017 as well as the BIG EAST Freshman of the Year and a second team honoree in 2016. He was named a USILA Honorable Mention All-American as a junior despite missing the final five games of the season with a knee injury and was also a Tewaaraton Award Nominee last season.
