WASHINGTON – Senior midfielder Francesca Whitehurst (Baltimore, Md. / Roland Park Country School) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday when the league announced its weekly awards. The No. 21 Hoyas are currently 5-2 on the season and in the midst of a three-game road swing.
 
In a 1-1 week for the Hoyas, Whitehurst totaled six points off of four goals and two assists, four draw controls and two ground balls. She managed a goal and two assists in GU's 13-4 victory over George Washington on Tuesday.  On Saturday, Georgetown narrowly fell to No. 8 Penn, 8-7, behind a hat trick from Whitehurst.  This is her second nod to the honor roll this season and GU's fifth overall.
 
Whitehurst is currently second on the team in scoring with 10 goals and a squad-best 13 assists for 23 points on the season.  She also has 22 draw controls on the year to rank second on the squad.
