WASHINGTON– Thirteen student-athletes from the Georgetown University field hockey team were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I National Academic Squad as announced Monday by the Coaches Association.
This year, 940 student-athletes from 76 Division I institutions earned recognition. The Division I National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year.
Seniors
Chloe Verwiel (New Hope, Pa. / New Hope-Solebury) and
Helena Masiello (East Greenbush, N.Y. / Columbia) received honors and have additionally earned National Academic Squad recognition all four years of their collegiate career.
Five juniors and one sophomore represented the Hoyas including
Cameron Rogers (Richmond, Va. / Trinity Episcopal),
Jordan Sweeney (Clarksville, Md. / Good Counsel),
Lindsay Getz (Northfield, Ill. / Loyola Academy),
Jessica Lagano (Greenwich, Conn. / Greenwich),
Ashley Leverrett (Pasadena, Md. / Indian Creek) and sophomore
Kylee Cunningham (Whitehall, Pa. / Whitehall).
All five GU freshmen received recognition this fall and are represented by
Isabel Harkins (West Chester, Pa. / Henderson),
Georgina Eberle (Brookfield, Wisc. / Brookfield Central),
Halle Gill (Virginia Beach, Va. / Norfolk Academy),
Sydney Stephenson (Bel Air, Md. / Bryn Mawr School) and
Ciara Weets (Springfield, Va. / Lake Braddock Secondary).
