WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's basketball Head Coach
Patrick Ewing will be the honorary representative of the New York Knicks at tonight's NBA Draft Lottery in Chicago. The lottery will take place at 8:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN.
New York selected Ewing first overall in the 1985 NBA Draft, the first year the draft lottery was implemented in the league. He went on to a Hall of Fame career with the Knicks and remains the franchise's all-time leader in points, rebounds, blocks, steals and field goals made.
"Thirty-four years ago I was blessed to be the number one pick by the Knicks," Ewing said. "I consider myself a Knick for life and hope we can create some magic for another generation of New York fans at the NBA Draft Lottery."
Additionally, Alonzo Mourning will represent the Miami Heat at the lottery in the Windy City as well.
