WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad will leave for its 2019 Foreign Tour on Wednesday. The squad will travel to Holland and South Africa over 11 days to face the Dutch National Team as well as joint training and hosting clinics at various stops.
Working with Zag Tours, the squad will experience everything the company strives for in its motto: Travel. Play. Give Back.
There will be games, sightseeing and service opportunities throughout the trip as well as free time to explore each location. Beyond the game and clinics, highlights of the tour include a surf lesson, cultural tours, zip lining, shark cage diving and a game drive to spot animals such as lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards and rhinos.
Giving back, the Hoyas will spend time at Goedgedacht Trust Farm hosting a clinic for the children as well as township tour as part of the SAVE Foundation.
Along the way, members of the squad will be taking over the team's social media channels and checking in with GUHoyas.com to chronicle this amazing adventure. Fans can follow the action on Instagram (@HoyasWLax) or Twitter (@HoyasWLax).
