Former Hoya Ford Named Head Coach of U15 USA Select Team

WASHINGTON –  Former women's lacrosse standout Molly Ford has been named the head coach of the U15 USA Select Team by US Lacrosse.  Ford was an All-American for the Blue & Gray graduating in 2010.

The team selections were made following August's national combine for the National Team Development Program (NTDP) that featured nearly 300 of the nation's top young lacrosse players training at US Lacrosse headquarters.

As part of the NTDP process, more than 1,300 players participated in 21 regional trials (boys and girls), conducted in partnership with the Premier Lacrosse League and Women's Professional Lacrosse League, this summer leading up to the selection of the USA Select teams.

The goal of the NTDP is to provide high-level training for the nation's top young players that will ultimately expand the talent pool for the U.S. national teams that participate in World Lacrosse competitions.

The four USA Select teams will compete against international competition from Canada during the Fall Classic at US Lacrosse over the weekend of Oct. 18-20.

Ford was a Second Team All-America honoree her senior year, earned a First Team All-Region nod and was a team co-captain.  In her four-year career on the Hilltop, Ford was a three-time All-American including two nods to the second team. She also earned All-Region and All-BIG EAST honors as a sophomore, junior and senior. Ford ended her career ranked among the best in program history ranking fifth in points (214), six in goals (150) and sixth in assists (64).

She now coaches at the Hockaday School in Texas.
