WASHINGTON – Georgetown University field hockey freshman Ellie Maransky was named to BIG EAST Honor Roll, as announced on Monday. Maransky was recognized for her offensive efforts during GU's season-opening weekend.

Maransky was impressive in her college debut, scoring two goals to go with one assist in Georgetown's 5-2 win over Davidson. She had a total of five shots, with four being on target against the Wildcats. Maransky also added a shot on goal against Appalachian State on Sunday. Her five-point performance over the weekend led the BIG EAST.

The Hoyas will travel to Farmville, Virginia on September 6 to face Longwood, beginning the first of four-straight road games before coming back to the Hilltop to begin BIG EAST play against Villanova. Live stats and a live stream for the Longwood match will be available at www.GUHoyas.com.
