Two Former Georgetown All-Americans Will Compete at IAAF World Track and Field Championships

WASHINGTON – Former Georgetown University Track and Field All-Americans Rachel Schneider (N'13, S'15) and Amos Bartelsmeyer (F'18, MS'19) are set to compete in the IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar. The championships began on Sept. 26 and will end on Oct 6. Schneider will represent the United States and Bartelsmeyer will represent Germany.
 
Schneider is set to compete in the women's 5,000-meter heats on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 11:25 a.m. Schneider's personal best in the event is 15:06.71, which she set this past May in Los Angeles. While at Georgetown from 2010-14, Schneider was a nine-time All-American and a BIG EAST Champion. In 2013, she set a school record in the 1,000-meter run. After graduating from the Hilltop with her master's degree in 2014, Schneider became a professional athlete for Under Armour. In 2016, Rachel competed in the 1,500-meter run at the U.S. Olympic Trails in San Jose, California. 
 
Bartelsmeyer will compete in the men's 1,500-meter heats on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 3 p.m. Amos' personal best in the event is 3:36.29, which he set this past June in Seattle. While at Georgetown from 2013-18, Bartelsmeyer was a seven-time All-American and a six-time BIG EAST Champion. After graduating with his master's from Georgetown, Bartelsmeyer served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Washington Huskies during the 2018-19 school year. At the 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Amos finished in sixth-place in the 3,000-meter run.
