WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Women's Lacrosse senior defender
Katie Hudson was named Inside Lacrosse Third Team Preseason All-American. Additionally, the Hoyas were ranked No. 19 in both the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Preseason Poll and the in the Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook Top 20.
Hudson was a Second Team All-South Region honoree and a unanimous First Team All-BIG EAST honoree after a solid junior season on the backline. She moved into the starting lineup midway through the year and was second on the team in caused turnovers with 23 to her credit. Following some big performances, Hudson was named the BIG EAST Defender of the Week on April 16 after scoring her first-career goal in a win at Villanova.
Georgetown finished the 2019 season with 12 wins as well as a BIG EAST Championship and the first trip to the NCAA Tournament Second Round since 2014. Georgetown managed back-to-back double overtime victories to capture the league championship and a tournament win before falling to Syracuse 14-8.
The Hoyas will open the 2020 campaign on Saturday, February 8 as the squad hosts Saint Joseph's at Cooper Field at 2 p.m.
