WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team will host Navy on Wednesday evening in a contest at McDonough Arena. The opening tip is scheduled for 6 p.m.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- The Hoyas opened the 2020-21 season with a 70-62 victory over UMBC on Wednesday at McDonough Arena. It was Georgetown's fifth-straight season-opening victory.
- Jahvon Blair led the Hoyas with 23 points and a career-high eight rebounds to go with four assists. He eclipsed the 20-point mark for the seventh time in his career.
- Qudus Wahab posted his second career double-double with 12 points and tied a career high with 12 rebounds.
- Donald Carey added 13 points in his first game for the Blue & Gray and Kobe Clark hauled in 10 rebounds off the bench in his collegiate debut.
- Blair was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday for his performance against UMBC, marking his third career selection.
SCOUTING NAVY
- Tuesday will be Navy's fourth game in seven days with the Midshipmen owning a 2-1 record with wins over George Washington (78-71) and Mount St. Mary's (73-67).
- Navy is averaging 67.7 ppg while shooting 45.1 percent from the floor. The squad is averaging 28.0 rpg and 13.0 apg.
- Cam Davis is averaging 17.0 ppg while John Carter Jr. is also in double figures at 11.3 ppg. Tyler Nelson leads Navy on the glass with 4.0 rpg.
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
- Georgetown and Navy have met 56 times in the history of the two programs, with the Midshipmen holding a 37-19 series advantage. However, the Hoyas have won the past four meetings dating back to the 1977-78 season.
- In the most recent matchup during the 2006-07 campaign, Georgetown pulled out a 65-44 victory behind Jeff Green's 20 points and nine rebounds along with 15 points from Roy Hibbert.
- Overall, the Hoyas are 135-84 all-time against current members of the Patriot League and 1-0 under Head Coach Patrick Ewing with last season's 80-60 victory over American.
COMING UP NEXT
The Hoyas will remain home as part of a six-game homestand to open the season, hosting West Virginia on Sunday, December 6 as part of the Big 12-BIG EAST Battle. Tipoff at McDonough Arena is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on FS1.
