WASHINGTON – Same city, new venue - Georgetown University's Head Coach
Ed Cooley, as well as five men's basketball student-athletes, participated in 2026 BIG EAST Media Day in New York. The event that brought together all 11 schools in the BIG EAST Conference to introduce the media to its men's and women's basketball teams was held at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square.

Elmarko Jackson (Kansas), senior
Jaland Lowe (Kentucky), junior
Chol Machot (College of Charleston), and sophomore
Josiah Parker (FAU).
The Hoyas were selected 10th in the 2026-27 BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll.
ABOUT THE 2026-27 GEORGETOWN HOYAS
- Of the 15 student-athletes on Georgetown's roster, six have suited up and played minutes for the Hoyas previously. Caleb Williams and Mulready have the most experience of the returning GU players with 62 and 54 games, respectively for the duo. Vince Iwuchukwu played 24 games a season ago while Seal Diouf managed 12 games in his first season of action. Mason Moses (3) and Michael Van Raaphorst (9) have seen limited action for the Blue & Gray. Gabriel Landeira returns to the squad after being a midseason addition last year. Landeira has yet to log minutes for Georgetown.
- Williams has started 47 of his 62 games played, connecting on 44.6% (150-336) of his attempts and pulling down 4.5 rpg over his first two seasons.
- Mulready took a big leap in his sophomore season, more than doubling his minutes to 16.7 mpg and producing 5.4 ppg in his sophomore campaign.
- Iwuchukwu is back with the Blue & Gray this season after averaging 11.6 ppg and 6.1 rpg and shooting 54.9% (96-175) from the floor last year.
- The Hoyas added eight new faces this year with Jackson, Lowe, Machot and Parker being joined by fellow transfers junior Vyctorius Miller (Oklahoma State). In addition, Georgetown welcomes freshman Athan Olivier IV, Justin Justin Caldwell and Pedro Pastre.
UP NEXT
- Georgetown will play its first of a pair of exhibitions starting this Sunday, October 4. The Hoyas will travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to face Wake Forest for a 12:30 p.m. tip at LJVM Coliseum. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
- The Blue & Gray opens the season on Monday, November 2 as the squad welcomes Loyola Maryland to Capital One Arena. Tip times and broadcast information will be released at a later date.
