WASHINGTON – Georgetown University baseball alum Tim Adleman (N'10) is currently in spring training with the Detroit Tigers as a non-roster invitee. It is his second season with the organization for the right-handed pitcher, who is one of eight Hoyas playing in affiliated professional baseball. Adleman recently took time out of his schedule to do a video interview for GUHoyas.com talking about the recent turns his career has taken and his upcoming 2020 season.

The 2019 season started with Adleman pitching for the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League before the Detroit Tigers signed him on May 11 and assigned him to Triple-A Toledo. He went 9-4 in 17 appearances, covering 103.0 innings, and finished with 109 strikeouts and a 3.23 ERA. He led the Mudhens' pitching staff in wins, innings and strikeouts. Adleman also made two starts for Double-A Erie, and went 2-1 with 14 strikeouts in 14.0 innings.
Adleman spent the 2018 season pitching for the Samsung Lions in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO). In 31 starts, he finished with an 8-12 record and a 5.05 ERA while striking out 137 batters in 171.0 innings pitched.
Prior to Korea, Adleman spent four years in the Cincinnati Reds organization, making his Major League debut on May 1, 2016. In 43 big league appearances, including 33 starts, Adleman owns a 9-15 record and a 4.97 ERA while registering 155 strikeouts in 192.0 innings. He was signed by the Reds in 2014 and spent two years in their minor league system.
Adleman was drafted in the 24th round of the 2010 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles and spent two seasons in the minor leagues before being released. He then played for three different independent league teams between 2012-13 before signing with the Reds.
