WASHINGTON – After finishing 2-3 last weekend in the Madeira Beach Tournament, the Georgetown University softball team is ready to return to action this weekend at the Colonial Classic, hosted by local rival George Washington. The Hoyas (3-12) will play four games over the course of three days, playing a single game on Friday and Saturday and a doubleheader on Sunday. All games will be played at the GW Softball Field on the Mount Vernon Campus.

About the Hoyas
- Georgetown earned a pair of victories last weekend in the Madeira Beach Tournament, seeing wins against Cornell (3-2) and Manhattan (6-4). Senior Noelle Holiday had a pair of home runs against the Jaspers to lead the Hoyas to its 6-4 victory.
- Sophomore Mae Forshey led GU at the plate over the weekend with seven hits, five runs and a pair of RBIs.
- Forshey leads the Hoya offense this season batting .356. She has 16 hits on the season, including three doubles and two home runs, along with four RBIs. Junior Savannah Jones ranks second on the squad with a .238 batting average off of 10 hits, three doubles and three home runs, and has scored five runs for GU as well as brought in five RBIs.
- Junior pitcher London Diller holds a 3.07 ERA from 41.0 innings of work. Diller has struck out 43 batters and has allowed just 29 hits.
About the Tournament
- The Princeton Tigers got off to a 1-2 start last weekend in the Houston Tournament. Princeton saw its first win of the season in a 6-4 victory over Syracuse after Madison Hamilton drove in a game-winning two-run double in the sixth inning.
- Towson is 4-5 on the season after dropping a pair of losses last weekend in the Pirate Invitational at East Carolina. Julia Smith-Harrington leads the Tigers' offense with a .464 batting average and 13 hits on the season. She also holds a 1.59 ERA and has struck out 14 batters in 22.0 innings.
- Morgan State opened up the Diamond 9 Tournament last weekend with its first pair of wins this year including a 12-2 victory over Stetson and an 8-3 win against Oakland. Aliya Ewell ranks first on the team with a .391 batting average and nine hits on the year.
- The Colonials are 3-11 on the season after splitting even 2-2 last weekend in the Seahawk Softball Classic. GW downed UNCW 15-10 and Brown 2-1. Faith Weber was named the Atlantic 10 Softball Player of the Week on Monday after holding a .333 BA with three homers and five RBIs and collected a 3.89 ERA in 18 innings and struck out 19.
