No. 14/12 Hoyas Improve to 5-0 with 13-4 Victory over Bellarmine

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team improved to 5-0 for just the second time since 2003 with a 13-4 victory against visiting Bellarmine on Saturday afternoon. Five of the Hoyas' six goal scorers on the day found the back of the net more than once and the GU defense blanked the Knights in both the first and third quarters.

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
•    Robert Clark paced the Georgetown offense with six points behind a pair of goals and four assists.
•    Graham Bundy Jr. added three goals and an assist, Jake Carraway posted a hat-trick and both Dylan Watson and Peter Thompson had a pair of goals.
•    Massimo Bucci tallied a goal and an assist for the Blue & Gray while Declan McDermott chipped in two assists on the day.
•    One of the strongest parts of GU's game continues to be at the 'X' as the Hoyas won 15-of-21 (.714) faceoffs. James Reilly went 10-for-14 (.714) while Carson Milburn added a 5-for-6 (.833) showing.
•    Defensively, Owen McElroy had another impressive game between the pipes with 14 saves for his fifth win of the season.
•    The Hoyas were credited with 11 caused turnovers, spread out over eight different players. Clark, Carraway and Gibson Smith each notched a pair.
•    Reilly led the way with six ground balls while McDermott, Smith and Alex Mazzone each had four.

BELLARMINE NOTES
•    The Knights fell to 2-5 overall on the season.
•    Ian Reilly had 14 saves in goal in his first start of the season.
•    Four different Bellarmine players accounted for each goal on the day with Luke Legnard leading the way with one goal and one assist.
•    All four of the Knights' goals were assisted.

NEXT FOR THE HOYAS
•    Georgetown hits the road next weekend as it travels to face Towson on Saturday, March 7 at noon.
