WASHINGTON – The Georgetown men's tennis team will finish the season at 4-9, 1-3 in the BIG EAST after dropping the last match against Creighton (5-5, 2-1 BIG EAST) on Tuesday for a 4-3 result. The Hoyas were downed 7-0 against Marquette on Thursday evening.
In their meeting with the Bluejays, Charlie Sharton and Connor Lee edged out Stratton Brown and Joe Hoff (Creighton) 6-4. Ian Witmer and Kieran Foster went back and forth against Armando Gandini and Jose Oscar Diaz (Creighton) before dropping the final point for a 7-6 result. The Hoyas would fall 1-0 in doubles competition.
During single play, Lee downed Nick Campbell (Creighton) 6-1, 7-5 on court one. Foster tied the match on court three after a 6-3, 6-0 win over Jose Oscar Diaz (Creighton). Down 3-2, Georgetown was able to get a win from Mark Militzer on court five. He edged out Daniel Lopez-Rey 7-6, 6-4. Creighton would get the 4-3 win after Andrew Rozanov and Joe Hoff traded points 5-7, 5-7 on court six.
