WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University softball team will resume action this weekend at the UNCW Softball Invitational in Wilmington, North Carolina. The Hoyas (5-13) will play five games over the course of three days. They will play two games per day on Friday and Saturday and will close out tournament play with a single game on Sunday.

About the Hoyas
- The Blue & Gray went 2-1 last weekend in the Colonial Classic in Washington, D.C. Georgetown split a pair with Princeton and later downed Morgan State 9-1.
- Junior London Diller started all three games for the Hoyas in the circle and posted a 2.88 earned run average in 17.0 innings of work. She allowed nine runs off of 14 hits and struck out 24 batters.
- Sophomore Mae Forshey was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday for her efforts over the weekend. She went 7-for-10 at the plate and tallied four doubles and a pair of RBIs while scoring three runs.
- Senior Noelle Holiday had three home runs in the Colonial Classic, tying her for first on the all-time list at Georgetown with 29.
- Forshey leads the squad this season with a .418 batting average (23-for-55) and seven doubles. Junior Savannah Jones has a team second-best 13 hits to go along with three doubles, a triple, four home runs and eight RBIs. Additionally, Holiday has a team-high seven homers on the season and 15 RBIs.
About the Tournament
- North Dakota is 6-13 on the year and went 2-3 last weekend in the San Diego Classic. The Fighting Hawks saw wins against Brown (7-4) and San Diego (3-2). Pitcher Jannay Jones was named the Summit League Pitcher of the Week on Monday for her efforts in the pair of victories. Ashlynn Uvila leads the team with a .379 BA (11-for-29).
- UNCW is off to a 4-14 start to the season and is coming off of a 2-3 weekend in the Seahawk Softball Challenge. The Seahawks shut out Toledo (8-0) and slid past Robert Morris (6-5) in extra innings on the opening day of play. Janel Gamache has 14 hits on the season, including a pair of doubles, five home runs and 16 RBIs.
- Presbyterian is 13-5 on the season and has seen just two losses in its last nine games. The Blue Hose went 4-1 last weekend in the Scotsman Invitational and recorded two shutouts against Wagner and Cleveland State. Jenna Greene holds a 0.85 era and is credited with 10 wins on the year. She has allowed 11 runs off of 32 hits in 74.0 innings of work and has struck out 97 batters.
