Georgetown Travels to UC Davis on Sunday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad will head across the country to take on the UC Davis Aggies on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET.  The Hoyas are currently 4-2 on the season and this marks just their third road contest of the season.

About the Hoyas
  • The Hoyas are riding high after a 21-6 victory over the George Washington Colonials on Wednesday.
  • Senior Natalia Lynch led the way with five goals, while classmates Michaela Bruno and Emily Ehle each tallied four goals and two assists apiece.
  • Sophomore Ali Diamond posted three goals and a team-best three assists for six points in the game.
  • GU outshot the Colonials 45-20 and forced eight turnovers while committing five.
  • Georgetown held a 19-10 advantage in draw controls, as Lynch and sophomore Jordyn Sabourin both led the way with nine each.
  • In the cage, senior Micheline DiNardo and freshmen Emily Gaven and Emma Spraggins combined for 11 saves as DiNardo was awarded the victory.
  • On Monday, Lynch was named the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week and Diamond was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
  • Lynch repeated as top midfielder after totaling 10 points off four goals and six assists, 18 draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 1-1 week for the Hoyas. Against Johns Hopkins on Wednesday, the senior set the single-game program record with 14 draw controls.
  • Diamond led Georgetown with eight points off six goals and two assists for the week.
 
About the Aggies
  • UC Davis is currently 2-2 on the season and 1-1 at home.
  • The squad downed Oregon (14-8) and Cal (9-6) already this season.
  • The Aggies have already had three Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Offensive Players of the Week this year, most recently with Sorana Larson earning the honor earning the honor posting five points in the win over the Ducks.
 
Series Information
  • This is the first meeting between the teams.
  • It is also GU's first contest against a program in the MPSF.
