Georgetown Finishes in Third at ODU/OBX Intercollegiate

WASHINGTON – Following the completion of play at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate hosted by Old Dominion, the Georgetown University Hoyas finished in third place place carding an 54-hole score of 6-under par 846.The three-day, three-round tournament was played at the Kilmarlic Golf Course par 71 6564 yards. This was the final tournament of the fall slate for the Hoyas and they will return to action in the spring season. 

HOYA RESULTS

  • Senior captain Will O'Neill was the top scorer for the Hoyas as he finished in sixth place with scores of 68, 71 and 69.

  • Junior Pieter DeGroot finished tied for 12th place with scores of 70, 68 and 74.

  • Freshman Max Hutter tied for 21st with scores of 69, 69 and 75 through the three rounds of play. 

  • Senior captain Brad Whitaker placed tied for 32nd with an even par 71 in round one. 

  • Freshman Charlie Creamean placed tied for 36th with scores of 73, 68 and 77.

ON THE RECORD:
"We played hard today but didn't adjust to the windy conditions well. We will learn from todays disappointments and stay positive for the spring season ahead" said Head Coach Tommy Hunter. 

TOURNAMENT LEADERS

  • Delaware (-13, 839) won the tournament with Drexel (-10, 842) placing second and the Hoyas closely behind in third.
