WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team released its 2022 schedule, presented by MedStar Health, as announced by Head Coach
Kevin Warne on Friday. The Hoyas will face four teams that made the 2021 NCAA Tournament and six opponents that closed out last season ranked in the top-20 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll.
- A pair of preseason scrimmages at Maryland and at home against UMBC set the tone for an ambitious schedule as the Hoyas look to capitalize on their 2021 NCAA Quarterfinals appearance, their first since 2007.
- Georgetown opens the 2022 campaign with three road contests, traveling to Johns Hopkins on February 13, Penn on February 19 and Notre Dame on February 26.
- The Hoyas home opener is against Mount St. Mary's on March 1, followed by a showdown in the District against Princeton on March 5.
- Georgetown then plays at Richmond on March 12, home against Utah on March 19 and at Lehigh on March 26 before BIG EAST play starts in April.
- BIG EAST play returns to its traditional format following a home-and-home round robin slate in 2021. The Hoyas open at Denver on April 2 and play at Providence on April 9 before Marquette comes to the Hilltop on April 16.
- A final nonconference game at home on April 19 against longtime rival Loyola breaks up the league schedule before the Hoyas close out the regular season at home against St. John's on April 23 for Senior Day and at Villanova on April 29.
- Georgetown will also host the 2022 BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Championships, presented by JEEP. Semifinals will take place on May 5 with the championship game being played on May 7 at Cooper Field.
