Hoyas Drop Regular Season Finale 11-9 at Loyola

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse dropped its regular season finale 11-9 in a nonconference game at Loyola on Thursday night. The No. 8/6 Hoyas close out the regular season 10-2 overall and head to the BIG EAST Championship next week, hosted by Providence.
 
HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
  • In goal, Owen McElroy collected 12 saves for his seventh double digit save performance of the season.
 
LOYOLA NOTES
  • Kevin Lindley led the Greyhounds (7-5) with three goals and an assist while Peter Swindell chipped in two goals and an assist.
  • Sam Shafer had 13 saves for Loyola in the win.
 
OF NOTE
  • The Hoyas finish the regular season with 10 wins for the 13th time in program history.
  • Haley's four assists give him 41 on the season, just one shy of the single season program record of 42 set by Greg McCavera in 1999.
 
NEXT FOR THE HOYAS
  • Georgetown looks to defend its back-to-back league tournament titles as it travels to play in the BIG EAST Championship, Presented by JEEP next week in Providence, Rhode Island. The Hoyas are the second seed in the draw and will play third seeded Villanova on Thursday, May 6 at 8:30 p.m. with the game broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.
