WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball squad released its 2021-22 nonconference schedule presented by MedStar Health on Friday. The Hoyas will play seven home games and one road contest this upcoming season which is the fifth for Head Coach
James Howard.
Georgetown will open the season on Nov. 9 at Navy in its lone road contest. The game will tip at 7 p.m. Navy went 5-7 a season ago but had a number of late games canceled due to COVID-19.
A matchup against Division II's Salem University will begin the home slate on Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. The Blue & Gray will follow that up with a contest against Davidson on Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. The Wildcats were 9-14 a season ago. This game is the return contest from GU's season opener in 2019-20 when GU fell in North Carolina 66-52.
Columbia is scheduled to come to The District on Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. The Lions did not compete last season due to COVID-19. Local-rival Loyola Maryland is scheduled for the day before Thanksgiving as GU will host the Greyhounds at 2 p.m. This will be the first meeting between the teams since the 2018-19 campaign when the Hoyas won at McDonough by a score of 43-30.
