WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's golf team wrapped up play at the two-day VCU Shootout finishing tied for seventh place with a 54-hole score of 10-under par 854. The Hoyas carded rounds of 287, 285 and 282 at the par 72 6,927-yard Country Club of Virginia's Tuckahoe Creek Course.

Senior captain Will O'Neill was GU's top finisher carding a 5-under par 211 to finish tied for 11th place. He turned in scores of 71, 69 and 71.

Senior captain Brad Whitaker finished the tournament 3-under par carding a 69 in the final round of play to place tied for 20th.

Junior Pieter DeGroot finished 2-under par with a final round score of 70 on Tuesday.

Junior David Rogers carded a 220 including a 72 on Tuesday.

Freshman Jacob Finard finished with a score of 220 in his first ever collegiate tournament.

Richmond won the VCU Shootout with a 20-under par 844. The host VCU placed second (-19, 845) followed by Radford and William & Mary (-14, 850).

The Hoyas finished just behind Rhode Island (-11, 853) and tied with James Madison (-10, 854).
