WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team will open its season on Saturday, September 11 when the squad travels to Delaware State for a matchup with the Hornets. As the 2021 season draws nearer, GUHoyas.com has been taking an in-depth look at each of the team's position groups, with this edition featuring the specialists.
The Hoyas have an abundance of talent on special teams this year, with four student-athletes battling for kicking responsibilities. Senior
Davis Walker is the lone returner of the group as he is entering his second season in a Hoya uniform after transferring from Tulane. He is joined by sophomores
Richard Abood II and
Conor Hunt, as well as freshman
Patrick Ryan. Additionally, senior
Brady Weas returns as the team's long snapper, a position he's held since arriving on the Hilltop.
"This is a very talented group of specialists and I am very excited to work with this group of young men," said Special Teams Coordinator
Trey Henderson. "They have worked extremely hard this summer and made this a very competitive situation here on the Hilltop. The most exciting part of working with this group is their enthusiasm on the field. We are blessed to have this type of depth at this position and look forward to the competition this fall."
