About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (4-4-3, 2-1-1 BIG EAST) played to a 1-1 draw against the DePaul University Blue Demons in a BIG EAST Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon in Chicago, Illinois.
  • In the opening minute of the second half, the Hoyas searched for a goal as a shot by junior Marlon Tabora sailed over the crossbar but the Hoyas were buzzing.
  • On the next play, a takeaway would fall to Tabora who took two touches and fired past the arm of Cruz to find the back of the net and tie the game at one.
  • Earlier in the week, the Hoyas managed a 3-2 victory over Butler in the first half of the road swing.
  • On Monday, Tabora was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for scoring two goals over the past two matches, including the game winner at Butler.
  • It was Georgetown's second weekly award of the year and the first award of Tabora's career.
  • Tabora currently leads the team in scoring with three goals and four assists for 10 points on the season. He is followed by a pair of freshmen as Jacob Murrell boasts nine points (3G, 3A) and Jack Panayotou has eight points on the season with three goals and two assists.
About the Friars
  • Providence enters Wednesday's game with a 3-3-5 overall record and a 1-1-3 record in BIG EAST play.
  • The Friars are looking to get back into the win column after going 0-1-1 last week suffering a 3-2 loss to UConn and tying Marquette 3-3.
  • Junior Gevork Diarbian leads the Friars with nine points on three goals and three assists, while Luis Garcia and Armaan Wilson boast four assists apiece.
Series Info
  • The Hoyas are 21-13-4 all-time against the Friars and 12-8-1 at home.
  • The last meeting was a 4-1 Hoya victory at home in the third round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament. Tabora managed a hat trick as well as one assist in that contest.
  • The last regular season meeting was a 3-0 loss in Providence during the 2021 campaign. It was the first of three meetings that season.
  • The teams met during the regular season at Shaw Field in the 2021 spring season as the Blue & Gray came away with the 3-0 victory.
  • The last five meetings between the teams have come in the 2021 calendar year.
