A STATEMENT FROM THE FAMILY OF LOUIS ORR

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University athletics department mourns the loss of Louis Orr, a staff member with the Georgetown men's basketball program since 2017. Orr was a familiar face in the BIG EAST Conference as he played at Syracuse and went on to become the first former BIG EAST player to be named a head coach in the league when he was hired at Seton Hall. Orr spent the first five years of his career at Georgetown on the sidelines as an assistant coach on Head Coach Patrick Ewing's staff. In the spring of 2022, Orr transitioned to the role of special assistant to the head coach.

COACH EWING ON LOUIS ORR
"I've lost a great friend. Someone who has been in my life since I was 22 years old. We developed a friendship and a brotherhood. He was always someone I could talk to - we would talk about life, we would talk about basketball, we would talk about family. He will be truly missed and he will forever be part of this Hoya program." - Head Coach Patrick Ewing

ORR ON THE HILLTOP
