Box Score 2 Greenville, SC – Georgetown softball played its third and fourth games of the Furman Classic on Saturday as it walked away with a loss to South Dakota (2-9) and a win over Furman (4-3). This bumps Georgetown up to three wins on the season so far with one more game to go of the Classic tomorrow morning against Furman. Freshman Kayla Dunn led the Hoyas with her pitching efforts as she threw 14 strikeouts between the two games.

Georgetown went up first as Cameron Kondo gave the Hoyas a run in the first inning (1-0).

In the fourth inning, Alyssa Chavez singled to center field helping to earn the Hoyas' second run (2-0).

Georgetown lost the momentum in the fifth and the Coyotes were able to get a number of runs and finished out the game with a final score of (9-2).
vs. Furman

FU scored first off a Georgetown error, raising them to 1-0 over the Hoyas.

Alyssa Chavez hit a ball to left field in the fifth inning allowing Mae Forshey and Savannah Jones (2-1).

Dunn followed in the same inning and hit a ball down into left field to get two more runs for the Hoyas (4-1).

Furman was able to get two more runs for itself on the board, but GU took the win (4-3).
Georgetown plays Furman again on Sunday, February 20 at 11:30 a.m.
