Hoyas Hit the Road at Villanova on Sunday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team will travel to Villanova University on Sunday for a BIG EAST Conference matchup against the Wildcats at Finneran Pavilion. The opening tip is scheduled for 2 p.m.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (7-11, 2-8 BIG EAST) is coming off of a tough 91-62 loss at Seton Hall on Wednesday evening.
  • Graduate student Mary Clougherty led the way with 11 points, while freshman Brianna Scott was also in double figures with 10 points.
  • Graduate student Milan Bolden-Morris was solid on the glass with eight boards and also scored four points.
  • The Hoyas shot 44.4 percent (25-54) from the field but allowed 56.7 percent (34-60) shooting by the Pirates, including 19 3-pointers.
  • Georgetown outrebounded Seton Hall, 31-28, and the GU defense forced 13 Pirate turnovers.
  • After an impressive week, Bolden-Morris was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. She averaged 17.3 ppg to go along with 6.7 rpg and 4.3 3-point field goals per game.
  • The Hoyas boast two players in double figures for the season as Bolden-Morris leads the way with 13.2 ppg. Sophomore Kelsey Ransom has 12.3 ppg, while senior Jillian Archer and junior Graceann Bennett round out the top four averaging 8.5 and 7.6 ppg, respectively.
  • Archer is also pulling down a squad-best 6.9 rpg.
  • Sunday's game will be the second in a pair of road contests for the Hoyas before facing Seton Hall again at home on February 9.
About the Wildcats
  • Villanova is 14-6 on the season and 8-3 in BIG EAST Conference play.
  • The Wildcats defeated the St. John's University Red Storm on Friday afternoon at Carnesecca Arena by a score of 82-58.
  • VU has won six in a row with its last loss coming to DePaul on January 14.
  • Maddy Siegrist led the way with 34 points and seven rebounds, while Lior Garzan managed 17 points.
  • Siegrist is leading the team and the conference with 25.2 ppg, she is also pulling in a squad-best 9.2 rpg.
  • She is followed by Garzon with 13.9 ppg, and Brianna Herlihy who is scoring 10.9 ppg.

  • The Hoyas are 24-46 all-time against the Wildcats and 7-25 on the road.
