Whitaker Places Fourth, Hoyas Finish Fifth at BIG EAST Men’s Golf Championship

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University senior Brad Whitaker carded a 1-under 71 to finish with a three-day total of 211 (-5) to place fourth overall at the BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship, Presented by JEEP on Wednesday. The Hoyas shot 875 over the event to finish in fifth place overall.
 
Round 3 Results
  • Whitaker's 71 led the Blue & Gray on Wednesday while Charlie Creamean carded an even-par 72, Pieter DeGroot shot 74, Jacob Finard and Will O'Neill posted matching rounds of 76.
  • With his fourth place finish, Whitaker earned a spot on the BIG EAST All-Tournament team.
  • O'Neill finished the tournament tied for 13th overall with a 217, Creamean tied for 30th at 224 and Finard finished tied for 33rd with 225.
  • DeGroot rounded out Georgetown's squad with a 43rd place finish at 231.
 Overall Standings
  • Seton Hall won the 2022 BIG EAST crown with a 15-under 849 while Marquette (-12, 852) and UConn (-4, 860) joined the Pirates in shooting under par.
  • Creighton (869), Georgetown (875) and St. John's (879) placed fourth through sixth.
  • Xavier (884), Villanova (885), DePaul (894) and Butler (906) all rounded out the field.
