Lightweight Eight Takes Third as Men’s Rowing Competes at Eastern Sprints

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's rowing team traveled to the 2022 Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts on Sunday. The highlight of the day was the lightweight squad which advanced to all three Grand Finals with the Varsity Lightweight 8+ taking third.

On the Record
  • "Our two heavyweight eights raced pretty well.  The performance by the varsity in their heat was not their best, but they worked very hard in the final. We were racing a lot of superb crews and we weren't quite fast enough for them. We finished pretty much where we were seeded, so it was reflective of our overall speed. All in all, our varsity and JV crews learned a lot over the course of the season. They are a very young group, they listened well, they improved a lot, they now understand what they need to do to be faster. " – Tony Johnson
