WASHINGTON – Sophomore
Jake Hyde and graduate student
Ethan Stern have become the first pair of Hoyas in 19 years to be selected to the 2022 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-East Region First Team in the same season as announced by the organization on Wednesday.
Both players join catcher Nick Collins (First Team - 2015), shortstop Mike Garza (First Team - 2012), designated hitter Ryan Craft (Second Team - 2005) and catcher Michael Lombardi (Second Team - 2004) as the only Hoyas to capture All-East Region honors. With the first-team selections, the duo will be in contention for a spot on the All-America team, which will be selected and announced prior to the start of the 2022 NCAA College World Series on Friday, June 17.
