WASHINGTON – Former Hoya defensive back and current Georgetown graduate student
Jonathan Honoré (SSP'23) has been named one of 42 student-athletes to earn the 2022-23 NCAA Fall Postgraduate Scholarship.
"This scholarship means a lot to me because I am given the opportunity to represent Georgetown nationally," Honoré said. "Georgetown student-athletes understand the importance of academic excellence and the need to serve our communities through volunteer work. I am grateful to the NCAA selection committee for acknowledging my achievements in these areas."
The St. Louis, Missouri native is actively enrolled in the Walsh School of Foreign Service's security studies program.
"My goal is to develop a comprehensive knowledge of domestic and international security issues from some of the world's top professionals," Honoré added. "Upon graduation, I plan to use this background to provide an educated perspective on subjects that continue to grow in importance."
The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are at least in their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition.
The one-time non-renewable scholarships of $10,000 are awarded three times a year corresponding to each sport season (fall, winter and spring). Each sports season there are 21 scholarships available for men and 21 scholarships available for women for use in an accredited graduate program.
