WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University sailing team had five student-athletes named to the 2021-22 Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) All-Academic Sailing Team, as the governing body announced on Thursday. The all-academic team recognizes collegiate sailors who have achieved excellence in national and inter-conference competition as well as excelling at the highest academic level for the 2021-22 academic year.
The criteria for the honorees are that the student-athlete must be a junior or senior, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale, and be a starter or key reserve in at least seven university-sponsored regattas.
A committee comprised of representatives from conferences in the ICSA evaluates the nominated sailors.This year's all-academic team is comprised of 188 members.

Georgetown closed the 2021-22 season with the spring slate with the ICSA national championships. The Hoyas turned in a third place performance at the ICSA Team Race National Championships, while taking seventh in Dinghy Nationals and 14th at Women's Nationals.
