Georgetown Hosts Villanova on Wednesday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team hosts the Villanova Wildcats on Wednesday evening with tipoff set for 6:30 p.m. at Capital One Arena. The Hoyas are coming off an 80-51 setback to Butler on Sunday evening while Villanova is coming off a 68-66 loss to Marquette on Saturday

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • The Hoyas enter Wednesday's game with a 5-10 overall record and an 0-4 mark in BIG EAST action after dropping their last contest to Butler on Sunday.
  • Akok Akok led the Hoyas on Sunday with 12 points, nine rebounds, two blocks and two assists.
  • Brandon Murray and Bryson Mozone also found themselves in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Murray added two rebounds, four assists and one block while Mozone added five rebounds.
  • Spears' 16.0 ppg leads a quartet of Hoyas averaging double figures, followed by Brandon Murray (15.5 ppg), Heath (13.4 ppg) and Wahab (11.1 ppg).

ABOUT THE WILDCATS
  • Villanova (7-7, 1-2 BIG EAST) is coming off a 68-66 loss to Marquette on Saturday afternoon.
  • Cam Whitmore, Caleb Daniels and Eric Dixon all reached double figures. Whitmore filled the stat sheet adding eight rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal.
  • Daniels and Dixon are both averaging 16.0 ppg while shooting 43.4% and 48.8% from the field, respectively, to lead a quartet of Wildcats in double figures.
  • Daniels chips in 5.1 rpg and paces the offense with 3.4 apg while Dixon adds a squad-best 6.3 rebounds per game.
  • Whitmore and Brandon Slater round out those in double figures with 11.7 ppg and 11.4 ppg, respectively.
  • Kyle Neptune enters his first season at the helm of the Wildcats after serving as the head coach at Fordham University in 2021-22.
