Georgetown Women’s Golf Closes Fall Slate at St Andrews Links Collegiate

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team is in St Andrews, Scotland for the first ever St Andrews Links Collegiate. This is the final tournament of the fall slate with the Blue & Gray taking on North Carolina, Notre Dame and Vanderbilt on the par-72, 6,218-yard Jubilee Course in the first and second rounds.

  • GolfStat will be used to score the three-day tournament with a link to the live scoring available on GUHoyas.com.
  • The tournament will begin on Monday, October 23, with every competitor starting on the first tee, starting at 5:42 a.m. ET / 10:42 a.m. local time.
  • Live coverage of the event will be provided live on the Golf Channel and Peacock.
 
ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Hoya Lineup: Morgan Smith, Georgia Ruffolo, Megan Gornley, Vilda Westh Blanc, Jiaying "Jasmine" Lai, Angela Lee, Claire Chen (different competition)
  • Morgan Smith is coming off her second-consecutive BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week honor on October 11. Smith finished the two-day UNCG Collegiate at 7-under 209 (71-71-67). She tallied three-straight rounds of under-par play recording a flawless third round with five birdies and 13 pars in Greensboro. Over 54 holes, Smith tallied 16 birdies and 32 pars.
  • Playing as an individual, Georgia Ruffolo finished third in Greensboro  at 3-under 213 (71-75-67) over 54 holes. She managed six birdies and 11 pars in the final round and totaled 15 birdies over the three rounds of play.
  • Megan Gormley carded a 10-over 226 (76-79-71) over 54 holes with five birdies in the final round. Gormley seemed to find her stride late as she closed the three-round tourney with four birdies over five holes for a total of eight birdies in the entire tournament, finishing tied for 34th.
  • Vilda Westh Blanc carded an 8-over 224 (78-75-71) and managed a 1-under 71 in the final round, fueled by four birdies over the final 18 holes. The freshman recorded nine birdies over the three-round tournament to tie for 31st.
  • Jiaying Lai carded a 21-over 237 (77-80-80) over the three rounds to tie for 76th. The freshman tallied a pair of birdies, both in the final round.
  • Angela Lee tied for 24th at 7-over 223 (72-75-76). The sophomore tallied an eagle in the first round and managed six birdies over 54 holes to go along with 34 pars.
  • Claire Chen, competing as an individual, tied for 36th place at 11-over 227 (73-79-75). She managed six birdies and 32 pars over 54 holes.
 
ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
  • St Andrews Links Collegiate Field: Georgetown, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt
  • The event features two days of stroke play on the Jubilee Course followed by a day of medal match play on the Old Course at St Andrews.
