Hoyas Participate in Media Day at MSG, Selected Eighth in BIG EAST Preseason Coaches Poll

NEW YORK – The BIG EAST Conference hosted its annual Media Day at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday morning. Head Coach Ed Cooley, senior Jay Heath, junior Dontrez Styles, sophomore Jayden Epps and freshman Drew Fielder were in attendance for the Hoyas. The Georgetown Hoyas were selected eighth in the preseason coaches poll, as announced prior to the day's events.

2023-24 GEORGETOWN HOYAS

Georgetown was selected eighth in the preseason coaches poll in Cooley's inaugural season as the leader of the program.
With a 15-person roster, the Hoyas welcome 11 newcomers to the Hilltop to go along with four returners in Heath, Wayne Bristol Jr., Ryan Mutombo and Victor Muresan from last year's squad.
The newcomers are highlighted by additions from the transfer portal, including Ismael Massoud from Kansas State, Jayden Epps from Illinois, Dontrez Styles from North Carolina and Rowan Brumbaugh from Texas. Cooley also added freshman Drew Fielder, a product out of Boise, Idaho.
The schedule is highlighted by four games on FOX, one at home against longtime rival Syracuse (December 9) and three on the road - at UConn (XL Center; January 14), at Providence (Amica Mutual Pavilion; January 27) and at St. John's (Madison Square Garden; March 9).
Georgetown opens the season on Tuesday, November 7 when it welcomes Le Moyne to Capital One Arena. As an appreciation to the fanbase, fans can register for up to four free tickets for the season opener using this form.
