WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's basketball team is set to host the Le Moyne Dolphins on Tuesday evening. Tipoff for the Hoyas season opener is set for 7 p.m. at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. The Blue & Gray are led by Head Coach Ed Cooley who is entering his 18th season as a head coach and his first for the Hoyas.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- The Blue & Gray brought in a plethora of new faces and talent to the Hilltop for the 2023-24 season, featuring a pair of freshmen and nine transfers to go along with four returners.
- The Hoyas are led by Ed Cooley who enters his 18th season as a collegiate head coach and his first season with Georgetown. In 2022, Cooley was the recipient of the Naismith Coach of the Year Award, named the Sporting News Coach of the Year, the BIG EAST Coach of the Year, the NABC District 5 Coach of the Year and the USBWA District 1 Coach of the Year.
- Senior Jay Heath appeared in 22 games a season ago with 18 starts to his credit, averaging 12.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 41.5 percent from the field, including 37.3 percent from deep.
- Wayne Bristol Jr. returns for the Hoyas after appearing in all 31 games in 2022-23 with three starts. The senior averaged 3.3 points and 1.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 41.8 percent from the field. Bristol tallied a season-best 16 points on an efficient 6-of-7 shooting, including a perfect 4-for-4 performance from behind the arc, at Marquette on January 7.
- Ryan Mutombo and Victor Muresan will suit up for their third and fourth seasons in the Blue & Gray, respectively. Mutombo appeared in 12 games last season for GU while Muresan saw action in one contest.
- Jayden Epps joins the Blue & Gray after a productive season at Illinois in 2022-23. Epps averaged 9.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists on 41.4% from the field and 30.1% from three this past season for the Fighting Illini, appearing in 31 games and starting in 11.
- Rowan Brumbaugh looks to bolster the Hoya backcourt after transferring to the Hilltop from Texas where he redshirted a season ago. Before heading to Austin, Brumbaugh was ranked as the No. 72 prospect in the nation by Rivals, No. 86 by 247 Sports Composite and No. 90 by ESPN out of Northfield Mount Hermon School in Mount Hermon, Massachusetts.
- Ismael Massoud comes to Georgetown following a pair of seasons at Kansas State. In a pair of seasons at Kansas State, he totaled 63 games with 18 starts to his credit and shot 37.4 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from deep.
- Dontrez Styles spent two Seasons at North Carolina averaging 1.8 points and 1.3 rebounds per game on 41.9 percent shooting from the field, appearing in 45 games.
- Supreme Cook arrived at Georgetown following three seasons at Fairfield where he appeared in 91 games, starting 73, and totaled 910 points on 53.0 percent shooting (329-621) and grabbing 680 rebounds.
- Drew Fielder, a freshman, was a four-star forward/center recruit who transferred to Southern California Academy after beginning his high school career in Idaho.He was rated as the No. 16 center in the nation in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports.com.
- Cam Bacote joins the Hoyas after two seasons at Western Carolina. Before an injury-shortened season, he appeared in 32 games, starting 28, averaging 8.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 34.9 percent from the field and 30.8 percent from behind the arc.
- Austin Montgomery, Donovan Grant, Hashem Asadallah and Jonathan Kazor round out the Hoya incoming class.
ABOUT THE DOLPHINS
- The 2023-24 season will be Le Moyne's first year as a Division I program.
- Last season, the Dolphins went 15-15 and 11-9 in Northeast-10 Conference action
- The Dolphins return seven letterwinners and two redshirts, including all four members who started in at least 20 games.
- Graduate students Isaiah Salter and Luke Sutherland led the Dolphins in scoring last season. Salter averaged 11.7 points per game while Sutherland recorded 11.2 points per game.
- The Dolphins also return guard Mike DePersia who led the team with 56 steals and is the leading returner in rebounds with 4.5 per game. DePersia was named to the inaugural Northeast-10 Conference All-Defensive Team.
- Nate Champion is entering his fifth season as the head coach of the Dolphins.
ABOUT THE SERIES
- Tuesday's matchup will be the second meeting between the two programs. They first met during the 1952-53 season, an 89-67 Georgetown win.
