WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team hosts No. 11/9 Penn in the 2023 home opener on Saturday at noon. The No. 8/12 Hoyas look for their sixth straight home-opening victory at Cooper Field.

About Georgetown
	- The Hoyas are ranked No. 8/12 in the national polls after a season-opening loss on the road at Johns Hopkins.
 
	- Against the Blue Jays, Tucker Dordevic led Georgetown with five goals in his Hoya debut while Graham Bundy Jr. added three goals and an assist.
 
	- Brian Minicus scored twice while Aidan Carroll and Jacob Kelly both had a goal and an assist and Nicky Solomon chipped in an assist as well.
 
	- James Reilly won 15-of-29 (.517) faceoffs and collected a game-high 12 ground balls.
 
	- Defensively, Wallace Halpert and Dylan Hess both had a pair of caused turnovers. Halpert collected five ground balls with Hess adding three. In goal, Danny Hincks recorded 13 saves in the loss.
 
Scouting Penn
	- The Quakers open their 2023 season against the Hoyas for the second-straight season and are ranked No. 11/9 in the national polls.
 
	- Penn is led by the reigning USILA Donald J. MacLaughlin Jr. Award winner Sam Handley as the national Midfielder of the Year and a Tewaaraton Award finalist in 2022. He is joined on the offensive end by Tewaaraton Award Watch List attackman Dylan Gergar, a 50-goal scorer a year ago.
 
	- Defensively, the Quakers have three players earning preseason All-American accolades including short-stick defensive midfielder Piper Bond, long stick midfielder BJ Farrare and defenseman Brendan Lavelle.
 
Series History
	- Georgetown and Penn have played just three times since 1993.
 
	- The Hoyas hold a 3-0 series lead, including a 10-8 Georgetown victory in the City of Brotherly Love last year.
