Hoyas Travel to Bear Down Fiesta This Weekend

WASHINGTON – Georgetown softball travels to Tucson, Arizona this weekend as it is set to play a series of three games in the Bear Down Fiesta with the University of Arizona and the University of San Diego. On Friday, March 31, the Hoyas will take on Arizona at 6 p.m. ET. On Saturday, April 1, Georgetown will play San Diego at 12 p.m. ET, and Arizona again at 5 p.m. ET.

About the Hoyas
  • The Blue & Gray (8-20) defeated George Washington University on Wednesday afternoon with a late run putting the Hoyas up 1-0. 
  • Graduate student Brooke Plonka had an impressive day in the circle tallying 13 strikeouts and getting the win.
  • Cameron Kondo leads the team batting .284 with eight home runs, 23 hits and 14 runs so far this season.
  • Mae Forshey is batting .267 at the plate this season totalling 23 hits, 11 runs, six doubles and two home runs.
  • Kayla Dunn has been solid for the Hoyas in the last few outings and has 29 strikeouts over nine appearances in the circle.

  • San Diego is coming off of a split doubleheader at home against St. Thomas, winning the first game 2-0 and losing the second 3-4.
