Hoyas Head to Rutherford Intercollegiate

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's golf team is set to travel to State College, Pennsylvania for the Rutherford Intercollegiate this weekend hosted by Penn State. This year's tournament will be played at Penn State Blue Course a par-71, 7,171-yard course with 12 schools competing in the event. The three-round tournament will be played on Saturday and Sunday, April 15-16 with 36 holes being played Saturday and the final 18 being played on Sunday. Last Time Out
The Hoyas finished tied for eighth at the Princeton Invitational hosted by Princeton University on April 8-9.
 
 
Hoya Lineup
  • The Hoyas will travel six student-athletes this weekend.
  • Senior captain David Rogers will be in the one spot for GU after carding rounds of 71, 68 and 74 at the Princeton Invitational. Rogers secured his first top-20 finish of the spring season at Princeton.
  • Senior captain Pieter DeGroot will be in the two spot after turning in cards of 76, 72 and 68 last weekend.
  • Max Hutter will be in the three spot for the third-consecutive outing. Hutter carded a team-best 67 in round three last weekend.
  • Charlie Creamean will be in the four spot this weekend after carding rounds of 76, 72 and 73.
  • Jacob Finard will be in the five spot after carding rounds of 76, 72 and 73.
  • Ryan Moylan will participate as an individual this weekend for the first time this spring.
 
About the Tournament
  • The event will have 11 other institutions competing, and the field includes Appalachian State, Cal Baptist, Central Michigan, Connecticut, Delaware, George Mason, Penn State (host), Rhode Island, Temple, Towson, Valparaiso
  • Teams will tee off Saturday morning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. and will play two full rounds, followed by another round Sunday at 8 a.m.

The Blue & Gray will be back in action on Friday, Saturday and Sunday April 28-30 for the BIG EAST Championships. The event will be hosted in Hardeeville, South Carolina at the Riverton Pointe Country Club.
