WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team had three student-athletes named to the 2023 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Region East Teams. Graduate students
Ubaldo Lopez and
Jake Bloss earned First Team All-Region East Honors. Sophomore
Owen Carapellotti was named to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Region East Second Team.
Bloss had a stellar season for the Hoyas earning Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Second Team All-America. Bloss was also named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year with an 8-4 record and a 2.58 ERA in 76.2 innings on the mound this season. The graduate student is currently ranked the #174 prospect in the MLB top-200 prospects for the 2023 draft which will take place next month.
Lopez was named to the All BIG-EAST First Team after a season that saw him break his own single season home run record with 20. Lopez also set the program record for most career home runs with 39.
Carapellotti was named to the All BIG-EAST Second Team and was named to the BIG EAST Championships All-Tournament Team. Carapellotti hit 16 homers in his second season for Blue & Gray and is currently playing summer ball in the Cape Cod League for the Orleans Firebirds.
