Kaitlyn Lees and Lauren May Selected to 2022-23 WGCA All-American Scholar Team

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University women's golfers Kaitlyn Lees and Lauren May were selected to the 2022-23 WGCA All-American Scholar Team earlier this month. They are two of 1,401 women's collegiate golfers from 278 programs recognized with this prestigious honor.
 
KAITLYN LEES (GRADUATE STUDENT / BRYN MAWR, PA.)
  • After spending the fall season abroad, Lees participated in every tournament of the spring season and recorded a 76.89 stroke average.
  • She closed the spring with three-straight top-10 performances, finishing tied for seventh at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, tying for eighth at the Lady Bison Invitational and tying for seventh at the BIG EAST Championship.
  • Through 18 rounds in six tournaments, Lees was able to ground her play as the season went on, improving her card with each round of the last four tournaments.
  • This is the second WGCA All-American Scholar honor for Lees on the Hilltop and her fourth overall, previously earning the accolade as a freshman (2018-19) and sophomore (2019-20) at Dartmouth.
 
LAUREN MAY (SENIOR / AUSTIN, TEXAS)
  • May competed in every round of the season, totaling 30 rounds over 10 tournaments averaging 77.20 strokes per round.
  • During the spring season, she carded a 69 in the final round of the Atlantic Invitational, finishing in a tie for 40th at 10-over 223.
  • She finished 12th at the BIG EAST Championship, helping the Hoyas to a runner-up team performance.
  • This is the second WGCA All-American Scholar honor for May, who picked up the accolade as a freshman (2019-20) and as a junior (2021-22).
 
2022-23 WGCA ALL-AMERICAN SCHOLAR TEAM CRITERIA:
  • Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
  • Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
  • Have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
