WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University swimming & diving team will open the 2023-24 season at the Potomac Relay, hosted by American University,on Friday, September 22. The diving events will be completed at McCarthy Pool at 3 p.m. while the relay events will take place at the Reeves Aquatic Center at 4 p.m.

ABOUT THE HOYAS

• Georgetown returns 45 total members from the 2022-23 team, 21 on the women's side and 24 on the men's, all looking to build up its success from last year. 
• Among the returners are several Hoyas who earned All-BIG EAST selections following their relay success at the conference championship in 2023. Those include Samantha Hagberg, Maddie Haley, Erin Hood, Ines Lovato, Sophia Ribeiro, Allie Sanchez, Bella Wylie and Genevieve Youngman from the women's team and Jack Brearton, Connor Brennan, Bailey DeLuise, Jack McEachern and Tomo Nozaki on the men's side. 
• The Hoyas welcome 19 newcomers to the Hilltop including four graduate transfers from Yale, Michigan, LaSalle and Colby. The group spans 14 different states across the country including Alaska and California.
• During the 2022 Potomac Relays, the Hoyas medaled in 17 of the 18 events, including four wins and nine second-place finishes.

MEET NOTES
Georgetown is slated to go up against DMV rivals American, George Mason, Howard and Mount St. Mary's in the following relays: 200 medley relay, 800 freestyle relay, 3x100 butterfly relay, 3x100 backstroke relay, 3x100 breaststroke relay, 500 freestyle relay, 4x100 IM relay, 1000 freestyle relay and 200 freestyle relay.
