WASHINGTON – Women's golf senior co-captain
Georgia Ruffolo was named the BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league on Thursday. The recognition comes days after the Tampa, Florida native took runner-up honors at the 2024 Lady Blue Hen Invitational, hosted by the University of Delaware. The two-day tournament was held on the par-72, 6,169-yard course at Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Her second-place showing pushed the Hoyas to a third-place finish at 21-over 885 (297-293-295) to close the fall season.
GEORGIA RUFFOLO (SENIOR / CAPTAIN / TAMPA, FLA.)
- Ruffolo carded a 4-under 212 (72-69-71) over the three rounds, recording a tournament team low at 3-under 69 in the second round.
- Ruffolo led a pair of Hoyas to top-five finishes as teammate and co-captain Megan Gormley finished fifth at 2-under 214 (72-72-70).
- For the tournament, Ruffolo tallied one eagle, 12 birdies (5/4/3) and 33 pars (11/11/11).
- She managed her first eagle of the season in the final round of action.
- The senior managed a Hoya-best five birdies in the second round to go along with four in the first round and three in the third round.
- Her 33 pars were fueled by 11 in each round.
- This is the third Golfer of the Week honor of Ruffolo's career and the second of the season for the Blue & Gray.
