Field Hockey Hosts Old Dominion, Travels to Richmond

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's field hockey team is back in action against a pair of teams from the Commonwealth of Virginia as it hosts Old Dominion in BIG EAST play on Thursday before hitting the road to face Richmond on Sunday.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (3-7, 1-2 BIG EAST) split last weekend with a 2-1 overtime win at Quinnipiac and a 2-1 setback at Sacred Heart.
  • The win against the Bobcats was the first BIG EAST victory for the Hoyas since 2021.
  • Elena Perez Alejandro had two goals on the weekend – including the game-winner against QU – to go with an assist.
  • Riley Fitzgerald scored her first career goal against the Bobcats while Lily Jamison also posted an assist.
  • On the year, Sophie Towne leads the Hoyas with three goals and two assists for eight points while Sydney Yodh has two goals and two assists for six points.

Scouting Old Dominion
  • Thursday's game is slated for 5 p.m. at the University of Maryland Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
  • The Monarchs are 6-4 on the season and 2-1 in the BIG EAST with league wins over Liberty and Providence.
  • Tess Jedeloo has nine goals and an assist for 19 points while Frederique Zandbergen also has 19 points off of four goals and 11 assists to pace ODU.
  • Suus Broers has played all but 75 minutes of the season for the Monarchs and has a 1.21 GAA with 30 saves and a .732 save percentage.
  • Old Dominion won last year's showdown 5-0 in Norfolk, Virginia.
Scouting Richmond
  • Sunday's game is set for noon in Richmond, Virginia.
  • The Spiders are 8-3 on the year but are coming off a 2-1 loss at James Madison following a five-game winning streak.
  • Clara Larripa leads Richmond with nine goals and eight assists for 26 points while Valen Luna Paratore adds eight goals.
  • In goal, Kristen Rake has a 1.59 GAA with 56 saves and a .778 save percentage.
  • Georgetown and Richmond faced each other last season with the Spiders winning 5-1 at home. Perez Alejandro scored the lone goal for the Hoyas.
