WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's soccer team will host the Fairfield Stags in the first round of the NCAA Championships on Saturday, November 16. Kickoff is slated for noon at Shaw Field on the campus of Georgetown University.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Georgetown (12-3-4, 8-1-1 BE) is coming off a 2-0 defeat against UConn in the BIG EAST Championships Semifinals.
- Lawson Renie and Lizzie Heller were named to the 2024 BIG EAST All-Tournament Team as announced by the conference at the conclusion of the championships.
- Maja Lardner was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year after tallying a league-best 27 points on 10 goals and seven assists. In conference action, Lardner tallied six goals and four assists. The senior earned four weekly honors this season, three of which were Offensive Player of the Week honors.
- Cara Martin was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year after posting a 0.20 GAA across 18 games this season. In conference play, Martin boasts a 0.17 GAA and has conceded one goal in 527 minutes of action. The junior went 8-0 in conference action and contributed to all seven of GU's conference shutouts.
- Georgetown's coaching staff was named the 2024 BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year after leading the Blue & Gray to a 12-2-4 record this season. The last time Head Coach Nolan and his staff were recognized was in 2022 when the Hoyas went 15-2-5 while earning a spot in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
- Lardner, Martin, Eliza Turner, Natalie Means and Renie all earned a spot on the All-BIG EAST First Team. Heller earned a nod to the All-BIG EAST Third Team after a remarkable freshman campaign on the Hilltop.
- GU ranks fifth nationally in shutout percentage (0.684) and fourth nationally in goals against average (0.474).
- Georgetown currently ranks eighth nationally in shots per game (19.47), second in the nation in corner kicks per game (8.21) and 22nd in shots on goal per game (8.21).
- GU ranks in the top 35 nationally in 10 different statistical categories. GU is top five nationally in corner kicks per game, goals against average, shutout percentage and penalty kicks.
ABOUT FAIRFIELD
- Fairfield (18-2-1, 10-1-1 MAAC) enters Saturday's match after winning the MAAC Conference Championship 1-0 over Quinnipiac.
- Maddy Theriault paces the Stags offense with 32 points to her credit. The junior has amassed 13 goals and six assists in 21 games this season.
- Katie Wright has started 19 of the Stags 21 games in goal boasting a 16-2-1 record. Wright boasts a 0.81 GAA and has 41 saves to her credit.
ABOUT THE SERIES
- Georgetown and Fairfield have met once before back during the 2010 season.
- In the lone matchup between the two sides, GU secured a 2-1 victory behind goals from Ingrid Wells and an extra time goal from Samantha Baker.
