WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, the BIG EAST Conference announced that Georgetown University's Tinoda Matsatsa was named BIG EAST Male Track Athlete of the Week. Matsatsa was Georgetown's top finisher at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, breaking the GU school record and finishing second overall in the men's mile race with a time of 3:54.15.
Assistant Coach Brandon Bonsey
"Tinoda put in a lot of hard work in training this semester so I'm excited this result validated the work. 3:54 in December is really difficult to do. Once he gets some more sharpening work in he will do some special things the rest of the season"
